I am so excited because I got my June Birchbox.
This is my second Box. I signed up towards the middle of May and got my first box at the end of the month. So, I was surprised and happy to get my June box just a few weeks later.
The theme for this month is Away We go. All about beauty products that you can take with you on vacation or anywhere you need a little freshening up. It also has products from across the world featured this month.
I got quite a few great products in my box. Most of them I had never heard of before but to me it is exciting because I get to try new things I would probably never buy on my own. Each month I fall in love with at least one product that I will be sure to buy.
One of the first products I got was a Coola Tinted Matte SPF 30 natural BB cream. I have already tried this product. I absolutely love it! This is my first BB cream I’ve ever tried. I wasn’t sure I really needed it but it works wonders. I know I will be breaking down and buying the full size when I run out. It goes on very silky and almost feels like a powder then a cream. It covered all my flaws. I have very oily skin especially on my T-zone and it stayed matte the whole day. Even though I was hot it stayed put. At the end of the day you could tell a little wore off but my skin was not oily like it normally is. I did not even apply foundation over it since I was actually out of foundation. Plus, the cost of the full size bottle won’t break the bank at $36.00.
Then I got Gilchrist and Soamers London Collection Body lotion. It smells very floral. I actually do enjoy the floral smells. I haven’t tried it yet though since I’ve still got my shea Butter I got as a sample last month.
This next item is the Joie Folle De Joie Eau De Parfum. I absolutely love this! it smells like a rose and is divine. However, I have decided to use it sparingly because the full size bottle is $98.00. If I do buy the full size bottle I would only use it for special occasions. But, I do think it is worth the money.
I also got the Number 4 Hair Hydrating Shampoo. I haven’t tried this yet but I actually plan on using it today. I am a little skeptical because my hair can be very oily at times. On the other hand my hair is really brittle at the moment and I’m wondering if this will help put some volume back into it. So, I am eager to see how this shampoo works. It does not have a strong smell or a floral smell. To me is really just smells like soap. It kind of smells like my V8 shampoo but maybe a little stronger then that.
The last item is the Vasanti Cosmetics Brighten-up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator face scrub. This is probably the item I was least excited to get because I have sensitive skin and am a little worried how my skin will react to this. Although it is made with Micro crystals, Papaya, and Aloe. Aloe is very soothing to the skin so I hope it works well on my skin. I would not use this product very often. It kind of has a lavender smell to it. It is paraben and Sulfate Free and is 100% natural so I like that. If it had chemicals in it I would probably not even attempt to use it on my skin.
My Favorite products from my May box are
Hello Perfume by Harvey Prince. This is a great summer scent because when you first put it on it has a citrus scent to it and as it wears off the under layer smells floral. I put it on and smelled like a lemon cake and then smelled like lavender as the day went on. This is a scent that can literally be worn everyday throughout the summer. I would wear it in the winter too although it smells more like a summer beach day type scent to me.
My next Favorite product is the Cynthia Rowley Eyeliner Crayon pencil in Black. It goes on thick which if you like a smokey eye it is perfect for that. I will also blend it in a little as well if I want an even more dramatic look. I was using a liquid eyeliner before this that worked well but this is my new favorite eyeliner. It reminds me of a mixture of going on like a pencil but still has a liquid feel to it. I want to try the blue and violet for the summer.
My third favorite product is the Perlier Shea Butter with sweet almond milk. It smells like almonds. It does contain sweet almond oil so if you have a nut allergy I am not sure I would wear this. This is another great light scent to wear for summer. When your skin is dry and you just want a lotion with a very light scent. Something you can wear to the pool or beach. I even put some on last night and since it is so light it did not bother me when I was sleeping like some scents do.
