I am on day 3 of Cycle Syncing and Weight Watchers Freestyle. I read the book Womancode by Alisa Vitti.  Cycle syncing is when a woman syncs her life with her menstrual cycle. This includes nutrition, food, exercise, and basic lifestyle needs. For example, in some phases, you need more rest and in others, you are more work and idea-oriented. Right now I need to do more cardio and I have more energy to get things done. The Follicular phase is the time to get things done after coming out of the menstrual reflective and luteal creative phases which are best for birthing ideas. The follicular and ovulation phases are the best time for putting plans into action. I love the Flo living app because it takes the guesswork out of what I should be eating, exercising, and working on for each of the phases.

Both Womancode by Alisa Vitti and The Healthy Life by Jessica Sepel recommend starting your morning with lemon water. I am not new to this concept and heard about this in my ayurvedic studies as well.  So, I’ve been doing this off and on for a few years now. The past few mornings I was slightly cranky since I am so used to grabbing for a coffee first thing in the morning even though I’ve read from multiple sources that it is not best to start the day with caffeine. So this is a habit that I’m trying to kick. Another habit is to eat breakfast before drinking any caffeine. I’m still drinking half and half coffee in the morning but a few months ago I cut down from 2 cups of regular to one cup of half and half or occasionally a decaf coffee or an herbal beverage like Dandy Blend.

Breakfast was a green smoothie. I used my Vegan Vanilla Shakeology which I no longer sell but I am still using because I love the taste of it and had some left over. I added kale, spinach, and cucumber for my greens. And added unsweetened vanilla almond milk. I’ve been switching between a smoothie for breakfast, eggs on gluten-free toast, or later in the week will have some gluten-free oatmeal with fruit.

Lunch was a big salad with chicken,  free-range organic hard-boiled eggs, Chickpeas, and Vegan salad dressing from Daiya foods in Ranch.

And for dinner, I had a leftover Buddha Bowl  As Kris Carr calls it in Crazy Sexy Diet

I had Fresh organic raspberries and fruit for my snacks today. Sometimes I will have a green juice or some chia seed crackers or veggies with organic hummus.
I am looking forward to getting even more creative and trying some new recipes out.
