Celebrating Pride 2022 and my 1 year wedding anniversary
This is a little late as we are currently in the month of July as I write and publish this. But I wanted to share. I haven’t blogged much this past year. It seems things always ebb and flow with me. And it saddens me that I’ve neglected my blog and my writing. But it was a tough year for me and if you read my last post I am getting back to my own self-care.
I finally made the move from blogger to WordPress. And updated my blog. Something I’ve yearned to do for the past few years now. But I always made some excuse time, money, etc… but I finally decided to take the plunge and just do it. Now my goal is to start a second blog from scratch but I don’t think that is on my radar in the near future but I’m optimistic about doing that at some point.
June was a fun month for me. Probably the most fun I’ve had in awhile. Life has been pretty tough these past few months. I was glad to celebrate pride month with a drag show. I hadn’t been to one in quite a few years. The last time I went to a drag show it was at a local bar to raise money for a local pride parade. Then COVID hit and everything got cancelled that year. For awhile it seemed like my life stopped. I was just starting to go out at that point after dealing with anxiety for many years. And then the pandemic hit everyone really hard. I haven’t been out much since then.
It also was my 1st year wedding anniversary. I do believe it is true what they say about the first year of marriage being the hardest. Ours was hard for extra reasons. And at times I thought we were going to get divorced. There were days he wanted it and days I wanted it. I would be lying if I said the idea of throwing In the towel and moving on didn’t cross my mind. I had my rough days and my tear filled nights. But I am choosing to see where this journey called marriage takes me for better or worse. And I love my husband dearly I wouldn’t have married him if I didn’t. He really is my best friend.
So I was excited to go to a drag show to celebrate pride month. It really was a fun night. We went to a local bar and ate Ruben’s, nachos, and had a few drinks. And then played darts we each won a game before we headed over to the show. It took awhile for the show to start but once it did we both enjoyed ourselves.
We both made it till around 10pm and then it was time to leave since I had to be up early the next day. But I would go again next year for sure. It was a great 2022 pride. And I’m glad I got to celebrate pride month and our anniversary.
