Letter to myself 1 year from now

I’ve been reading a book called Be Your Future Self now by Dr. Benjamin Hardy and he says to write a letter to yourself as you are now but make it be from your future self as you want to be. I did this in part for my 6 month goals but it was as my current self to my future self. I have been trying to implement a lot of positive changes and habits and so far have succeeded. to date I’ve lost 11-12 ish pounds. The scale fluctuates. This is in about 40 days.

I signed up for this habit tracker and creator called Fabulous. And I paid for the yearly subscription and I completely think it is worth it because it helps to keep track of and create new habits. I love that it has routines for morning, afternoon, and evening. And it might sound like a lot but today it said use the habits that are best for your today. I completely agree with that. Not everyday is going to be the same.

But, there are some positive habits that I’m trying to create and some negative habits that I am trying to get past. The fabulous app has really helped me to focus on and stick to these goals. I feel much more productive and like I am getting things done that are on my list. I’m also learning to give myself grace on days I can’t wake up early or complete everything on my list. That is also much needed at times. Sometimes we need to let things fall away so we can pursue other things we are passionate about.

Dear Current Christina,

First, I want to say how proud I am of you. You’ve lost 11-12 pounds so far in about 40 days. I know it has been hard but you are not giving up on yourself. You will not falter this time and you have not given up on yourself. I know this is a new concept and change any change can be scary but you are doing it. You have done it already.

This is your future self and I want to share with you the changes that you’ve made and the lessons you’ve learned this past year. You’ve been taking care of your body and have lost excess weight that your body no longer needed or wanted. And you finally feel confident in your own body and your own skin. You are completely beautiful regardless if you hear that from anyone else or not. But, now deep down you know that is true. You are putting good healthy nourishing foods into your body and making healthy meals. You practice self-care on a daily basis. Not because you feel like you have to but because you genuinely love and care for yourself.

Even when life gets’ hectic or has ups and downs you return to your routine and positive habits like a compass that is navigating you home. You fill your days and nights with positivity. You surrender everything to the divine. The good, the bad, and the ugly. You have unshakable trust in the divine.

You do your morning pages and soul write daily. This fills your soul and cup with so much pleasure and joy. And it helps with your creative side. When you feel lost or stuck or alone you turn to the pages of your notebook instead of a bottle of booze.

You nurture your creative side on a daily basis. And you paint, you write, and you let your soul play.
