I haven’t made a TBR in a while. My reading game has not been the best, even though I have the best intentions. In January, I read two books. We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie was a nice short read. It is excellent for returning to reading as my first book of the year. The Second book I read in January was In Five Years by Rebecca Serle. This was the first book I read by the author, and it won’t be my last book.

I selected these books for my February TBR pile to prioritize Kindle Unlimited titles I’ve been looking forward to reading. All these books are available on Kindle Unlimited. I selected a range of themes for the month. This month’s themes are romance (it’s Valentine’s Day!), self-discovery, and fantasy. Nonfiction books have always been my preference. I’m hoping to explore the fantasy genre. A mix of contemporary fiction is also on my TBR for February.

  1. The Second Chance Year,” by Melissa Wiesner, is a book whose plot has captured my interest despite my unfamiliarity with the author. Sadie awakens to find herself back in the previous year, given a second chance. Her worst year could be rewritten—a book exploring second chances, time loops, and self-discovery.
  2. Dolly Alderton’s memoir, Everything I Know About Love, chronicles love, friendship, and growing up. The humor, personal growth, and relatable experiences drew me to add this book to my February TBR.
  3. A Love Letter To Whiskey by Kandi Steiner Is a profoundly emotional and angsty romance. I’ve never read a book by Kandi Steiner before. I was drawn to this book because people raved about it on #BookTok. And the fifth-anniversary edition, I believe, came out not that long ago.
  4. I hope This Finds You Well by Natalie Sue: A Workplace Romance with an Email Mishap. I was drawn to this book because of the humor, office romance, and miscommunication tropes.
  5. Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros: A fantasy pick with dragons, romance, and competition. I have not read these books yet, but they are highly recommended on #BookTok, and since the first two books are on Kindle Unlimited, I figured I would see what all the hype is about.
  6. Taming Seraphine By Gigi Styx: This is a best-of #BookTok book. It does come with two pages of trigger warnings. It’s a very dark romance. Leroi kidnaps Seraphine, a trained killer. Now, he has to tame her before she makes him her next victim.

I am most excited about reading Fourth Wing and Taming Seraphine.

Have you read any of these books? What is on your February TBR?

Do you have any book recommendations? I would love to hear them.
